Well as you all know, I am growing life. Turns out, that is not all I am growing. I also have managed to add a big ole bum, jugs for days and k-ankles that won't quit...and I'm only half way there. Oh, and if you know anything about being pregnant, typically the "big" part comes with the second half. Eeks. I know, my poor husband. In my defense, I have had doctors orders to not work out (due to some early scares/issues) and I really have not been eating any more or less, but for some unknown reason, this week I have gained a pound a day. What the hell?
With Dash I gained 80lbs, yes friends eight-ohhh-NOOO. I was very lucky that by his first birthday I was the thinnest I had ever been, by the grace of God, the weight came off with diet, exercise, and nursing. I was hoping that since this pregnancy has been so different, maybe just maybe, crazy weight gain would not happen. Uh oh, wrong-o. Shoot.
I am not giving in to the gain just yet. I will continue to watch it and be healthy. That being said. I have to admit that after feeling like dung for the last 4.5 months, I am so happy to just be able to eat and enjoy it. I am well aware that this is not forever. My job now is to grow a healthy bambino and I am more than willing to do whatever it takes. I love that I can feel this little bebe bouncing around! And every little kick, punch, jab combo serves as the perfect reminder that stretchy pants, giant boulder holders ( seriously like the kind that people buy for a joke), and puffy white skin, is simply a teeny tiny price to pay for this little bundle of perfection. And to those of you who continue to say I look good, even though I sort of look like I have been swallowed by a larger version of myself, I love you. I know once this short, precious, privileged time is finished, I will be back and better than ever. However, in the mean time, if you need someone to stand next to you in public so you look a little smaller, wanna sneak in a trip to dairy queen, or just sit with you at the pool to accentuate your golden tan...I'm happily your gal.
