its yo birfday.

this summer dash turned the big, uh, 4. sounds sort of small, but its not. 4. four. FOUR. i know all dopey mommas say this, but seriously, where has the time gone?! we celebrated in our back yard with a splish splash water party for dash. and it was a hit. there were tons-o-kids, entertainment for days, and giggles heard for miles. now i know i may have organized the party, but it realllly was good. so good, there were crashers. so so good, that one little friend (who happens to be a girl and a tween...not the easiest market to impress) dubbed it the "best party eveaaa." boo-yahhhh.
everyone played in the giant bouncy water castle, enjoyed a water gun war, and endured a water balloon attack. Then all recovered with a lovely, and unhealthy, sack lunch. but wait. that's not all. just when the lull after the lunch hit the kiddies there it was. the sentimental, whimsical, charming call of the ice cream truck!!
and guess who's house it was stopped in front of???
all of the kids took their designated shopping money, and one by one bought themselves an ice cream treat from a real life ice cream man. it was so funny how only a few had ever seen such a sight. really, they aren't all too common anymore. and the idea of a stranger, coaxing out small children with treats, into the middle of the street, and taking their money, while their parents nudged them wearing a giant smile...well, it could seem to be a teensy bit off to any child born after 2005. but, luckily they all rolled with it and loved every second.

as we were searching through the photos to add tonight, dash spontaneously gave my big belly the tightest hug and said, "i loved my birthday momma, thank you sooooooo much." and that review my friends, was the only review that mattered.

so, to the bestest, smartest, kindest, most worthy, bright, special, unique, charming, brilliant four year old i know.
thank you for choosing me and letting me share this beautiful life with you. you are everything.

enjoy the peek...
