I couldn't have agreed more with the legendary Dick Clark when he said,
"Music is the soundtrack of our lives."
Admit it, its totally true! If I could compile my collection of hits, it would surely have its own infomercial for the box set, selling out on random channels all. night. long. It would be soooo gooood.
I may not remember off the top of my head the year my parents cut down the old climbing tree in the front yard, or the time I snagged my first job bagging groceries, or even the which summer I started driving. However, I can tell you what song I was bumpin on my giant, spaceship looking, 3 disk (yesss, THREE, I was so spoiled) CD player stereo for ALL of those moments (and so many more). I LOVE when my XM radio 90s on 9 tosses out a ditty that takes me on a complete 4-D trip down memory lane. Ahhhhhh.
Every Sunday I will chose a song/lyric(s) to share how I will remember the moment/time/feeling wrapping up the what's happening NOW. Feel free to comment and share your week's jingle, or, just enjoy mine and whatever it may mean to you...
With it being mother's day, I have to choose my all time favorite song dedicated to Dash. I remember it playing in his room as I rocked him when he was so so tiny. The time flies, but the feelings stay the same. When I play it now he'll say, "This song is lame, but I know you love it to me." What more could a momma want? :-)
Lullaby
by The Dixie Chicks
They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade
