october weekend.

this weekend mother nature sent us snow. yipee. although it did change our plans...
it was only for the better.

we braved it and sat under the friday night lights just long enough for dash to learn and observe his first "streaking." it was awesome. dash first watched, then laughed, and just when i began to wonder if he really had a clue what was happening he said, "momma. that guy was totally running so nakey, i saw all his private parts! his biscuits, his winkie, his boobies..." uh, yep, he gets it. :-)

then came the snow. hooooooray. nothin' like wakin' up to the sweetest little boy and having the prettiest, coziest, best excuse to stay in and move reallllly slow all day long.
which we did, until as we were snuggled in on the sofa, dash noticed our house was lacking something. "momma. everyone is decorated for halloween, except us. (insert verbal list of EVERYONE he knows here.) he did have a point, so we headed out to target where i let him pick out any and all halloween decorations to add a little spooky flair to our humble abode. but of course on the way there we noticed something, (i just realized this is beginning to sound a little like, if you give a mouse a cookie, ha ha ha, don't worry that stops here.) it was freezing and we have NO winter coats that fit. um, problemo. so while we were at target, dash picked himself out a toasty little shell, and to my surprise, the cutest little hat and gloves that actually matched. he looked like a million bucks. and a very warm million bucks at that. sold.

we then decided to kill our afternoon with a trip to see the film, Lion King 3-D, our first 3-D experience. woooo, ahhhhh.
it seemed like a super idea, and, really was fun at first...

but turns out for us, it was a 3-D-isaster. after the show little dashy had the worst baby nausea. he was greenish pale, out of sorts, and sicky sick. as the momma i felt TERRIBLE. don't you momma's out there hate hatey hate when you do something with your little you have the best of intentions with and for whatever random reason it just goes sour. this was one of those deals. WORST.
luckily he did actually love the movie, and the whole ordeal was nothing a quiet evening of cars, toy guys, candy land, and banging drums couldn't cure.
ga! live and learn.

sunday was much better. And although the snow kept us from our planned visit to see charles cheese, we still had a good time. church, lunch (boy's choice!), a little grocery shopping and hours (literally) of playing in the snow with momma.
yes, i rallied. and yes, it was totally worth it.
his favorite part, "painting" the snow with colored water spray bottles.
 my favorite part, watching him.

we rounded off the weekend with some muffin making and a trip to red box.
all in all, the best weekend i have had in such a long time.
thank you god. thank you mother nature. thank you dash.
let's do it again soon.
really soon. :-)
