there is very little in this life that i can promise you two. there will always be change. there will always be the unexpected. there will always be the uninvited.
that being said, i can promise you two things...
1. i promise i will always be home.
i will be home when you are sick or sad, so please always come to me, i will welcome you. i will be home when you have big news to share. good or bad. i will be home when you feel lost or confused. look for me, i will help you find your way. i will be home when you need advice on loves, schools, friends, outfits, cars. i will tell you the truth, even if i really do not want to. i will always make this place your safe place, where no matter what, you are safe to be you. i will smile and will always hold you. tight.
2. i promise i will always keep my promise.
i will use the word sparingly. i will never disappoint or disregard. i will teach you to value it. i will show you a promise can be real.
i know the list is small, but it will be enough.
i love you both with every last bit of my being.
